There are small, frequently well kept, cemeteries on the edge of the small villages and towns.

An outing to Dzibanche and Kohunlich - e and I had a wonderful afternoon outing with the Nelsons - our neighbors at Casita Carolina.

This is the Alpha male of a small troop of all male howlers the Nelsons, and e and I, were able to stay directly under for about 1/2 hour.  We were incredibly lucky to be able to be that close for so long It was captivating.  The Alpha male's howling was remarkable.

North of Bacalar - extensive magical ruins -- we were one of only 3 sets of visitors in the 2.5 hours  we were there.
